Peran dan Proses Penyelesaian Sengketa Perdagangan Impor Daging Ayam antara Brasil dan Indonesia oleh World Trade Organization (WTO)

Abstract

Perdagangan internasional antar negara yang dibawahi WTO (World Trade Organization)
dimaksudkan untuk mempermudah negara anggotanya melakukan perdagangan secara
bilateral maupun multilateral. Namun ada kalanya perdagangan anatar negara anggoata
WTo tidak berjalan dengan mulus dan pada saat itu juga WTO akan memberi titik terang
terhadap permasalahan yang muncul. Salah satu sengketa perdagangan yang terjadi pada
Indonesia sebagai anggota WTO adalah sengketa impor daging ayam dari Brasil. Sengketa
ini berawal sejak tahun 2009 karena Indonesia yang ketat terhadap hal ini yakni penandaan
label halal pada setiap makanan non-haram. Melihat perlakuan Indonesia dalam membatasi
impor daging ayam dari negaranya, Brasil melaporkan Indonesia ke WTO karena telah
melanggar peraturan WTO yakni kebijakan proteksi perdagangan. Adapun tujuan dari
penulisan artikel jurnal ini yakni untuk mengetahui apa penyeab terjadinya sengketa
perdagangan internasional terkait impor daging ayam yang terjadi pada Brasil dan Indonesia
serta untuk mengetahui apa peran WTO (World Trade Organization dalam menangani
permasalahan kedua ini. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode penulisan kualitatif serta
menggunakan kerangka teori berupa teori kebijakan luar negeri.
