Abstract

This study aims to determine the picture of the ability to recognize letters of children aged 4-5 years in TK Madania Makassar before and after treatment and to determine whether or not there is an influence of Sandpaper Letters media on the ability to recognize letters of children aged 4-5 years in Makassar Madania Kindergarten. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a type of Quasi-Experimental research. The independent variable in this study is Sandpaper Letters media and the dependent variable in this study is the ability to recognize children's letters. The population in this study was 30 children, namely all students in Makassar Madania Kindergarten. The sample in this study used the entire population, namely 30 children, 15 children of the control group and 15 children of the experimental group. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive data analysis and non-parametric statistical analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the ability to recognize the letters of children who were treated with Sandpaper Letters media in the experimental group was better than the control group. So, it can be concluded that Sandpaper Letters media has a significant influence on the ability to recognize letters of children 4-5 years old in Madania Makassar Kindergarten.
