Abstract

Students as prospective teachers often have difficulty in designing learning that reflects the stages of the scientific approach, such as observing, asking, trying, reasoning, and communicating. The purpose of this study is to develop interactive digital media that supports the learning process based on the scientific approach and to test the feasibility and applicability of the media in lectures. This study uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The media was developed using the Canva platform, with the contents of the scientific approach steps. Visual and interactive media are designed according to the analysis of the needs of students and lecturers in Papua. Validation was carried out by media experts and material experts, while trials were conducted on semester VI students in the Animal Development Structure course. The results of the study showed that the interactive digital media developed was valid so that it was very suitable for use during the learning process. The implementation of the media showed an increase in active involvement and student learning outcomes. This media is also considered contextual, easy to access, and encourages collaboration in learning. These results indicate that interactive digital media has great potential to be applied in the development of more innovative and effective biology education.
