Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model on critical thinking skills of fifth grade students conducted at SD Al Manar Surabaya with the material of spatial properties. This study uses a quantitative research method with a quasi-experimental design. The population in the study included all fifth grade students at SD Al Manar Surabaya. The sample of this study was 25 VA class students as the control class and 25 VB students as the experimental class. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observations, tests with critical thinking skills indicators, and documentation. Data analysis was taken from the test results that would be tested for normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-tests to test the proposed hypothesis with data analysis calculations in this study using IBM SPSS Statistic 26. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test, the Sig. (2-tailed.) value is 0.015 <0.05, which indicates that Hα in the hypothesis is accepted and H0 is rejected, which from this it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning model has an effective effect on critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SD Al Manar Surabaya.
