PENGARUH TGT BERBASIS LSQ TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH DAN BERPIKIR KRITIS

This study aims to examine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model combined with the Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) strategy on students' mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking skills. These abilities are essential skills in mathematics. The low level of these abilities is indicated by the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022, which showed that Indonesia's mathematics scores are still low. This is reinforced by the results of a pre-research at SMPN 26 Pesawaran, where 98.16% of students did not meet the Minimum Competency (KKM) for mathematical problem solving and 100% of students did not meet the Minimum Competency (KKM) for critical thinking. This study used a quantitative method with a Quasi-Experimental Design (QDC) type posttest-only control group design with three groups. The research sample, taken through cluster random sampling, consisted of experimental class I (TGT learning model with LSQ strategy), experimental class II (TGT learning model), and control class (Problem-Based Learning/PBL learning model). Data were collected through essay tests whose validity and reliability have been tested. Data analysis used the MANOVA test. The results of the hypothesis testing indicate a significant effect between the TGT learning model and the LSQ strategy on both abilities. This is demonstrated by a MANOVA significance value of 0.001 (p-value <0.05). This conclusion confirms the effectiveness of the combination of TGT and LSQ as an appropriate alternative for improving students' problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
