This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) approach which is implemented in two cycles, each cycle includes the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were tirty eight class X TKRO 1 students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of inquiry-based learning methods can improve students' critical thinking skills. This is indicated by an increase in the average value and percentage of student learning completion from pre-action to Cycle I and a significant increase in Cycle II. Thus, the inquiry-based learning method is proven to be effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning.
