EKSPLORASI ETNOMATEMATIKA PADA PERLOMBAAN PACU JALUR DI KABUPATEN KUANTAN SINGINGI DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SD

ABSTRACT
Culture is a behavior that is passed down from generation to generation and reflects the identity of a society. In Indonesia, cultural diversity, including the pacu jalur tradition, is very important to preserve, especially in the era of globalization that causes many changes in local culture. The pacu jalur competition not only has cultural and social values, but also contains mathematical concepts that can be integrated into mathematics learning in elementary schools. This study aims to explore ethnomathematics in pacu jalur competitions in Kuantan Singingi Regency and the relationship of mathematical concepts in pacu jalur competitions with mathematics materials in elementary schools. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative approach with an ethnographic approach. This research was conducted in Pulau Deras Village, Pangean District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province and SDN 010 Pulau Deras. Data collection methods in this study were observation of the pacu jalur construction process, interviews with pacu jalur builders, traditional leaders, community leaders, pacu jalur leaders, pacu jalur committee members and teachers at SDN 010 Pulau Deras, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the pacu jalur competition includes ethnomathematics aspects in the form of counting, measuring, designing, explaining, placing, and playing activities that contain mathematical concepts, namely the concept of numbers, the concept of arithmetic operations, the concept of number patterns, the concept of comparison, the concept of measurement, and the concept of geometry.
