PENGARUH PRAKTIKUM BIOLOGI LOW-COST BERBASIS LINGKUNGAN SEKITAR PADA MATERI FOTOSINTESIS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS XI

This research was conducted in response to the inadequate laboratory facilities in schools, which often hinder the effectiveness of biology instruction, especially in teaching photosynthesis. To address this issue, an environmental-based low-cost biology practicum was applied using simple and accessible materials from students’ surroundings. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of this practicum approach on students’ learning outcomes in photosynthesis material. A pre-experimental approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was employed. The participants were 20 eleventh-grade students. Learning outcome data were obtained through pretest and posttest assessments and analyzed using normality testing, Paired sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The findings revealed that the data were normally distributed. Statistical testing showed a significance value of 0.000, which was lower than 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the implemented practicum on students’ achievement. Furthermore, the N-Gain score reached 0.71, which falls into the high category. These results indicate that environmental-based low-cost biology practicum can effectively enhance students’ understanding and learning outcomes in photosynthesis.
