Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The level of science literacy of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Minasatene before and after the implementation of Virtual Tour Guided of Sumpang Bita Prehistoric Park based on Theasys. 2) The improvement of science literacy of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Minasatene after the implementation of Virtual Tour Guided of Sumpang Bita Prehistoric Park based on Theasys. 3) The significant improvement of science literacy of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Minasatene after the implementation of Virtual Tour Guided of Sumpang Bita Prehistoric Park based on Theasys. This research was a pre-experimental study with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study consisted of all grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Minasatene. The sample was taken through purposive sampling from class VII B, consisting of 26 samples. The research instrument consisted of a multiple-choice test with 20 questions. The data collection technique used in this study was the administration of pretests and posttests. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the study indicated that: 1) The science literacy of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Minasatene before the implementation of Virtual Tour Guided of Sumpang Bita Prehistoric Park based on Theasys was 11.31, categorized as moderate. After the implementation, the score was 14.88, categorized as high. 2) The science literacy of grade VII B students at SMP Negeri 1 Minasatene through the implementation of Virtual Tour Guided of Sumpang Bita Prehistoric Park based on Theasys obtained an average N-Gain of 0.43, categorized as moderate. 3) There was a significant improvement in the science literacy of grade VII B students at SMP Negeri 1 Minasatene after the implementation of Virtual Tour Guided of Sumpang Bita Prehistoric Park based on Theasys. This could be seen from the Paired Sample T-Test results, which obtained tcount = -8.113 > ttable = 2.060 with significance value (Sig.) = 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H was rejected and H was accepted.
