PENGARUH COGNITIVE FLEXIBILITY DAN MATHEMATICS ANXIETY TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA

Abstract

This study aims to determine three influences, namely (1) the influence of cognitive flexibility on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities, (2) the influence of mathematics anxiety on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities, and (3) the influence of cognitive flexibility and mathematics anxiety simultaneously on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. The study population includes all students of class X of SMA Negeri 1 Batang, and Class X A, totaling 33 students, was selected as a sample through a cluster random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a cognitive flexibility test, a mathematics anxiety questionnaire, and a mathematical problem-solving ability test, then analyzed using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that (1) there is an influence of cognitive flexibility on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities with a contribution of 43.4%; (2) there is an influence of mathematics anxiety on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities with a contribution of 22.4%; and (3) cognitive flexibility and mathematics anxiety simultaneously influence students' mathematical problem-solving abilities with a contribution of 55.3%.
