EKSPLORASI STUDENT ENGAGEMENT DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PAI MELALUI METODE CERAMAH INTERAKTIF BERBASIS STICKY NOTES

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction is currently dominated by conventional, one-way lecture methods, resulting in low levels of behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement among students. This study aims to explore in depth the forms of student engagement that emerge in PAI lessons through the implementation of an interactive lecture method utilizing sticky notes. A qualitative approach employing a descriptive case study design was adopted, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation at MI Miftahul Hasanah Pakuniran. The findings indicate that the use of sticky notes successfully fostered behavioral engagement, characterized by active physical movement and the elimination of disruptive behavior during lessons. Emotionally, the medium proved effective in lowering barriers associated with academic anxiety and creating a classroom atmosphere that was democratic, inclusive, and enjoyable for students. Cognitively, the limited writing space on the sticky notes served as a cognitive trigger, compelling students to synthesize information, formulate theological arguments, and shift from rote memorization to deep, critical analysis.
