PENGARUH KONSELING KELOMPOK REALITA UNTUK MENGUBAH POLA PIKIR MENYONTEK PADA PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VIII F SMP NEGERI 7 SURAKARTA TAHUN PELAJARAN 2023/2024

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Reality Group Counseling in changing the cheating mindset of class VIII F students at SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research employed a quantitative experimental approach utilizing a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The population consisted of all 33 students of class VIII F SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta, selected through a total sampling technique (saturated sampling). Data collection was carried out using a validated cheating mindset questionnaire with high reliability (r11 = 0.810). Data were analyzed using paired sample t-test via SPSS 21 and Microsoft Excel. The results revealed a significant decrease in cheating mindset scores, as reflected by an increase in academic integrity post-intervention. The calculated t-value was 16.289, which is significantly higher than the t-table value at both the 1% (2.738) and 5% (2.037) significance levels (16.289 > 2.738 > 2.037). Consequently, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. The implementation of three reality group counseling sessions successfully fostered students' self-awareness, responsibility, and commitment to independent learning. In conclusion, Reality Group Counseling is effective in altering the cheating mindset among junior high school students
