Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe student responses to teaching materials assisted by the powtoon application on the theme of loving plants and animals in grade III SD Negeri 104266 Pematang Sijonam, (2) to describe the effectiveness, practicality, validity of teaching materials based on problem-based learning assisted by the powtoon application on the theme of loving plants and animals in grade III SD. This research is a type of Research And Development (R&D) development research using the EDDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis (Analysis), Design (Design), Development (Development), Implementation (Implementation), and Evaluation (Evaluation). the subjects in this study were teaching material expert validators, Material experts, learning implementation plan (RPP) experts, media experts, and student responses. The results of teaching material experts get an average score of 86.50%, material experts get an average score of 94.66%, lesson plan experts in stage I get an average score of 77.5% and stage II get an average score of 92.5%, media experts get an average score of 70.4%, and student responses get an average score in stage I 25% and stage II get an average score of 100%. In addition, the results of the student pretest and post test showed a significant difference, the average value of the student pretest at stage I was 60. In stage II, the student posttest value got an average value of 91. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the development of teaching materials based on problem-based learning has succeeded in creating a product that is feasible and effective to use in the learning process.
