Abstract

This study analyzes the textbooks and Student Worksheets (LKS) for Science and Social Studies (IPAS) of Grade VI under the Independent Curriculum to identify potential misconceptions in the presentation of the material. The method employed is qualitative content analysis, categorizing misconceptions into five types: misidentifications, overgeneralizations, oversimplifications, obsolete concepts and terms, and undergeneralizations. The analysis results revealed several significant misconceptions, such as depicting the moon as the only natural satellite, oversimplifying the process of osteoporosis, and using non-scientific terms like "cow farts." These misconceptions can negatively impact students' understanding, limit their critical thinking, and potentially lead to long-term conceptual errors. The study recommends revising teaching materials to improve scientific accuracy and relevance, thereby supporting more effective learning and enhancing students' science literacy.
