Abstract

The background of this research is that there is no development of STEM-based Science Initial Assessment of Solar System Material for Elementary School Students in Phase C so that students think creatively. This is because usually the initial STEM-based science assessment is developed for the junior high/high school level, it is still rare to develop it at the elementary school level. Solar system material in class VI is also considered difficult for students. This study aims to 1) produce an initial assessment of STEM-based solar system material that will be tested on stage C students in science learning. 2) Validation of the feasibility of STEM-based initial assessments on solar system material to develop the way of thinking of Stage C students in learning natural sciences. The method used is development or also called RnD and the type of research used is the ADDIE model. The results of research conducted by researchers is to obtain valid data that will be used as research material. The results of the study show that all items are in the moderate to d category. validity. high for the Aiken index (0.78 to 0.82). Meanwhile, based on the Rasch Model analysis, Measure values ​​(-1.48 to +1.63), SE Model values ​​(0.46 to 0.60) MNSQ Outfit values ​​(0.55 to 1.46), Outfit ZSTD values, Outfit Pt values ​​mean core (0.13 to 1.63), item and person reliability (0.49 and 0.46) while Cronbach's alpha (0.60). Thus these items have a fairly good reliability value, so that these items can be used in the initial STEM-based science assessment for grade VI students in the solar system stage C material in elementary schools.
