Abstract
This research delves into the factors driving the renewed security collaboration, between the Philippines and the U.S in the Marcos Jr’ s era. The writer sheds light on aspects regarding what shapes the foreign and security strategies of the Philippines. The research uses qualitative method and rational actor model theory. Upon analyzing the data gathered it was found that Marcos Jr. has chosen to enhance collaboration with the U.S.as the advantageous option with few expenses except for potential short term tensions, with China. This choice seeks to enhance the Philippines’ standing in the area and enhance the country’s importance within the context dynamics. Marcos Jr.' approach is, in line with the benefits specifically related to security.

Abstrak
Penelitian ini menganalisis alasan menguatnya kembali kerjasama keamanan Filipina dan AS di era Marcos Jr. Penulis mengisi kesenjangan dalam pemahaman tentang faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kebijakan luar negeri dan keamanan Filipina yang terus berubah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan teori pilihan rasional. Hasilnya, setelah melakukan analisis rasional, Marcos Jr. memilih untuk meningkatkan kerjasama militer dengan AS sebagai opsi yang paling menguntungkan dan sangat minim cost, yaitu potensi peningkatan ketegangan jangka pendek dengan Cina. Opsi ini bertujuan memperkuat posisi Filipina di kawasan, dan meningkatkan nilai strategis negara dalam dinamika regional. Hal yang dilakukan Marcos Jr. sejalan dengan kepentingan nasional yaitu keamanan nasional.
